About the course

Reading your Land is a course where you learn the tools and techniques to understand your land well. A good permaculture design starts with a good understanding of your land. Too often, people skim over this stage, and simply see the land as a square on a piece of paper. Take it from me, you will not have a robust design without Reading your Land first.

In this course titled Reading your Land, you will learn the art and science of getting to know your land. Right from the macro factors of climate and geography, to the micro details of microclimates, weeds & birds.

You will learn how to make a Base Map for your land, and then plot out water flows, micro climates and existing zones. You will also learn to do a sector analysis and decide which elements to amplify, use or deflect. 

At the end of this course, you will be able to understand some basic key factors to look at while studying your land, and incorporate them sensitively in the design process of your permaculture project. Right from water management, to tree plantation and garden design -  you can charge ahead with all those designs and plans once you have understood your land completely.
